Vania Maria is currently the Head of CBARI, the Brazilian Network for Integrated Reporting, which she has overseen since 2012, and an Audit Committee Member at Banco Santander Brasil.

The representative of the Brazilian Institute for Corporate Governance (IBGC) at the International Integrated Reporting Council, Vania Maria is also a Member of the Expert Panel of Accounting for Sustainability – A4S. Other responsibilities include being a Board and Audit Committee Member at SHIFT Project, as well as a Board Member at International Ethics Standards Board for Accounting (IESBA), and a Member of ISAR – International Standards for Accounting and Reporting, an arm of UNCTAD.

Vania was formerly the Head Accountant and Superintendent for the Controlling Division at BNDES – Brazilian Development Bank. Here she was responsible for promoting transparency best practices, such as international accounting and auditing standards, corporate governance and Integrated Reporting both in Brazil and abroad (1992-2020). She is also the former Brazilian representative at the Advisory Council of the IFRS (2015-2020) and the Consultative and Advisory Groups of the IAASB – International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board and IESBA.
